Thomas H. Martin attended Rutgers University where he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While at Rutgers he achieved the following Honors and accomplishments: Phi Beta Kappa, Honors Program Graduate, Pi Sigma Alpha, High Honors/Dean's List, Benjamin Weissman Award for most outstanding thesis in political science. He also has an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Bergen Community College. He completed a political internship with Chief Robert Re of the Bergen County Police and Fire Academy located in Mahwah, New Jersey. After graduation, Mr. Martin attended the Seton Hall University School of Law on a scholarship and graduated in 2001. While in law school, he was a member of the juvenile justice clinic and represented juveniles in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Martin was accepted by the Hon. Joseph P. Quinn, Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, for a one year Judicial Clerkship. Judge Quinn was assigned to the Civil Division where he presided over Civil Trials including personal injury actions arising out of automobile accidents, products liability accidents and slip and fall injuries.
In 2002, after completion of his clerkship, Mr. Martin entered into private practice as an attorney with the law firm of Schibell & Mennie, L.L.C. in Ocean, New Jersey. His practice consisted of civil work in the Superior Court, Municipal Court matters and Appellate Division work.
In 2004, Mr. Martin accepted a position in the law firm of Lynch, Teitelbaum & Geldhauser, L.L.C. located in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr. Martin's practice consisted of criminal trial work, municipal matters, including but not limited to, driving while intoxicated and drug possession cases. He also was involved in worker's compensation and civil litigation matters.
In 2005, Mr. Martin founded his own firm in Freehold, New Jersey, primarily concentrating in civil work, criminal matters in the Superior Court, criminal and motor vehicle offenses in Municipal Court, worker's compensation and record expungements. He has handled personal injury actions, and criminal trials and motor vehicle cases representing defendants in the Superior and Municipal Courts.
